Finally, he was by Achim Stocker, former president of the SC Freiburg, obliged with a handshake. In his first season in 1993/94 he played 15 games and scored seven goals. With players like Rodolfo Cardoso and Jens Todt Wassmer came with the Sport Club 1995 sensational third place in the Bundesliga, thus qualifying for the UEFA Awards 1995 /96 apply.

After a temporary decline in the 2nd Bundesliga (1997/ 98) was followed by yet another season in the first league. He let 1999 end his career and moved to the second division side SV Waldhof Mannheim, but where he came only on 11 missions.
