Vaahteraliiga
The Vaahteraliiga (also Maple League) is the highest Finnish American football league. It exists officially since 1980 and is organized by the Finnish American Football Association SAJL. The championship is determined in a final. After a league round FFA the top four teams reach the semi-finals where the finalists are determined. Giants are the Helsinki Roosters with 14 league titles. The League and the Cup have received its name from the fact that the trophy was donated by the Canadian Embassy in Finland.
Season 2009
The 2009 season starts on the last weekend of May and ends on 29 August 2009 with Maple Bowl XXX, which will be held in Vantaa.
