Vacuum packing

A vacuum packaging is a gas-tight packaging of a product, in which the gases have been removed or vacuumed into the interstices of the product. In particular, the oxygen is removed from the packaging. On the products, hence the term is " vacuum packed ".

This type of packaging has several advantages. As with the protective gas packaging the products are more durable because there is no oxygen gets to the products, which leads to chemical reactions or biological processes over time to the uselessness of the products. In contrast, the volume is kept to a minimum in the vacuum package. It will therefore also be used to reduce the volume.

As vacuum-sealed packaging films made of polyamide or polyethylene and laminated foils are used. Commercially also packs are hard to find. For fresh meat packing and food packaging vacuum packaging have become indispensable.
