VAG Rounded

The VAG Rundschrift is a sans serif typeface. The font was designed for the Volkswagen AG. In English-speaking countries, the font is distributed under the name VAG Rounded.

History and Origins

VW used traditionally as the Futura typeface. From 1978 VAG Rundschrift was used uniformly for the brand image. The font was used for all Group subsidiaries and created a uniform appearance of the Group. The unique design at the time of emergence of Scripture came from Wolf Rogosky and Gerd Hiepler. Later revisions of the script were made by Bertel Schmitt and Manfred Black. From 1990, we proceeded to the uniform brand of the Group not to pursue. Each brand in the VW Group has now been equipped with an independent brand essence. The VAG Rundschrift was no longer used in the sequence.

The VAG Rundschrift is nowadays used by different organizations. How to Use T -Mobile USA, Apple Inc., Adecco and other companies the font. For General Electric of the typographer Mike Abbink created a very similar typeface, GE Inspira.
