Vagelis Vourtzoumis

Evangelos Vourtzoumis (Greek Ευάγγελος Βουρτζούμης, born 30 October 1969 in Greece ) is a retired Greek professional basketball player.

Career

His professional career began Evangelos Vourtzoumis the Greek first division club Aris Thessaloniki. In addition to players like Nikos Galis and Panagiotis Giannakis he played for seven seasons for the northern Greek club and won next three championships and three cups 1993 European Cup Winners' Cup. In 1995, along with his teammate John Vourtzoumis Korfas to league rivals Panathinaikos, where he won the major European title, the Intercontinental Cup as well as one more time league and cup with the European Champions Cup. After a season with the Athens-based club Niar Is, changed Vourtzoumis 1999 Marousi Athens. With Marousi he reached in his second season, the final of the Saporta Cup, defeating there the French representative Élan Sportif Chalonnaise with 74-72. For Vourtzoumis this was already the fourth international title of his career. His active career he finished in 2002 at the Greek second division KAO Dramas.

National

With the Greek national Vourtzoumis counts eight appearances in which he came to a total of 47 points (5.88 on average). He made his debut on November 10, 1992 in Piraeus in a game against Hungary which won Greece with 83-68.
