Maha Vajiralongkorn, full name: Somdet Phra Chao Fa Maha Boromma - orasathirat Vajiralongkorn Sayammakutratchakuman, Thai: สมเด็จ พระบรม โอรสา ธิ ราช เจ้าฟ้า มหา ว ชิ รา ลง ก รณ สยาม มกุฎราชกุมาร ( born July 28, 1952 in Bangkok, Thailand) is the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Thailand. He is the second child of King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX. ) And Queen Sirikit Kitiyakara.

Family information

The Crown Prince has three siblings, the elder princess Ubol Ratana Rajakanya and the younger princesses Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Chulabhorn Walailak.

He was married to Princess Soamsavali Kitiyakara, with whom he also has a daughter, Princess Bajrakitiyabha ( Phra Chao Lan The Phra Chao On Bajrakitiyabha, พระเจ้า หลาน เธอ พระองค์เจ้า พัชร กิ ติ ยา ภา ) since 3 January 1977. Due to the fact that from his first marriage, no male descendant has sprung (the four sons with his partner are on the throne without meaning), the Thai law has been amended. Since then, women are allowed to ascend the throne.

Vajiralongkorn married again, on 10 February 2001. His third wife Mom Mahidol na Ayuthaya Srirasmi was appointed on 15 June 2005 HRH Princess Srirasmi. The first child was born from this union On 29 April 2005, Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti. Through the succession Prince Dipangkorn Rasmijoti is the second in the ranking for the throne after his father. His royal title is Phra Chao Lan Phra Ong Chao The Thipangkon Ratsamichot ( Thai: พระเจ้า หลาน เธอ พระองค์เจ้า ที ปัง กร รัศมี โชติ ).

Public perception

The Crown Prince is nowhere near the popularity of his parents bestowed. Aircraft seizure

In July 2011, the prince available Boeing 737 was seized at Munich airport and was not allowed to start.
