Vajolet Towers

The Vajolet towers from Santnerpass

The six Vajolet towers are a bizarre rock formation in the center of the rose garden in South Tyrol. They are bounded to the north by the Vajoletpass ( 2459 m asl ) and in the south by the lauric Fun ( 2627 m slm ). They are divided into three northern and three southern towers, each having an independent base and are separated by the Winkler Charter ( 2650 m slm ). The three southern towers are the famous ones have the better rock and are one of the showpieces of the Alps dar.

They are known as climbing mountains. Some of the routes are among the most famous routes in the middle of difficulty throughout the Alps and are in season well attended accordingly, especially since the rise of the Gartlhütte is very short, eg about 15 minutes to the Delago Tower.

Upstream of the southern towers is only about 40 meters towering Piazturm ( Torre Piaz, 2670 m asl ), which was ascended on September 2, 1899 by Tita Piaz first (IV ).

Tita Piaz, who had come too late being able to mix with the first ascents of the towers, left in the following years, a plethora of new routes on all towers. Together with F. Jori and Irma Glaser, he opened on August 9, 1911, the Southwest edge on Delagoturm (IV, IV and III), which is called " Delagokante " become ever with their straight and exposed edges of climbing one of the most frequented routes of the Alps ( in image, the edge on the left side ).
