Vakhsh (Cyrillic Вахш; Vakhsh English transcription ) is a town in the valley of the Vakhsh in Tajikistan's Khatlon province with about 16,900 inhabitants.

Location

The nearest major town is about 15 km north Qurghonteppa. To the west lies approximately 20 km away Garabuti. After Sarband (until 1996 Kalininabad ) in the north- east it is 25 km. The removal of the Vakhsh river of the same name is both westward and northward about 20 km.
