Valeria (wife of Sulla)

Valeria was the fifth wife of the Roman dictator Lucius Cornelius Sulla Felix. She was the daughter of Valerius Messala and Marcus Valerius Messala sister of Rufus, consul BC was 53.

According to Plutarch, it was a remarkably beautiful woman divorced from her first husband. However, Plutarch mentions neither name nor reason.

Valeria and Sulla met during gladiatorial games in Rome and married shortly thereafter. When Sulla died in 78 BC, she was pregnant and gave birth after a few months Cornelia Postuma.
