Valérie Trierweiler

Valérie Trierweiler ( born February 16, 1965 in Angers; Massonneau born ) is a French political journalist. As a partner of President François Hollande was from 2012 to early 2014 the Première lady of France.

Career

Massonneau was born the fifth of six children. Her father, Jean -Noël was handicapped ( he entered the age of twelve on a landmine ). Her mother worked after her husband's death (about 1976) as a receptionist at the ice rink of Angers.

She studied history and political science and graduated in 1988 with a Diplôme d' études supérieures spécialisées (DESS ) from the Sorbonne. Then she was on the editorial staff of Paris Match, one of the largest weekly magazines in France, works.

When in 2005 the television channel Direct 8 went on the air, Trierweiler hosted a political talk show. By 2007 she was the host of the political talk show Le Grand 8 From September 2007, she hosted along with Mikaël Guedj the weekly policy shipment Politiquement parlant.

Marriage and relationship with François Hollande

Valérie had been married very young, a childhood friend. In 1995 she married her second husband Denis Trierweiler, an Alsatian journalists, translators and specialists in German, she had met during her work at Paris Match. This marriage produced three children; she was divorced in 2005. Trierweiler was from the mid-2000s in a relationship with François Hollande and after its separation from Ségolène Royal in June 2007 until the beginning of 2014 its official partner.

First lady

After the election of François Hollande as President of the French Republic in May 2012, she was Première lady of France. In the first weeks after the beginning of Hollande excited several Twitter messages from Trierweiler great stir in the French media. Media called this Tweetgate ' ( - "gate" is playing on Watergate and says scandal '). Hollande announced on 25 January 2014, the separation known. Shortly thereafter Trierweiler was hospitalized with great sympathy of the tabloid press in a hospital. After his release, they expressed the intention to want to take their former life.
