Vallis Snellius

The Vallis Snell is a Moon Valley. It counts with the Vallis Rheita which further extends south in about the same direction, the longest valleys of the moon. Due to the strong erosion by overlying crater however, it is difficult to identify the course of the valley.

The eponymous crater Snell is located approximately in the center, and from there it runs in a north -westerly direction to the vicinity of the crater Borda. The course ends in a southeasterly direction north of the crater Furnerius.

The official designation by the International Astronomical Union took place in 1964.
