Vanadium (III ) fluoride is a chemical compound selected from the group of fluorides. It is in the form of a gray to green powder.
Production and representation
Vanadium (III ) fluoride may be recovered from the vanadium (III ) oxide. Serves either the direct synthesis by reaction with hydrogen fluoride or ammonium hydrogen difluoride with the reaction and subsequent thermal decomposition of the Hexaammoniumsalzes.
Furthermore, a synthesis of vanadium ( III) chloride and hydrogen fluoride is possible.
Properties
The crystal structure of vanadium (III ) fluoride is made against each other and tilted in all directions of the room toward corner-sharing octahedra. In case of contact with sodium hydroxide solution to vanadium colored ( III ) fluoride black.
