The nuclear power plant Vandellòs (Catalan Central nuclear de Vandellòs, Spanish Central nuclear de Vandellós, short CNV) is a Spanish nuclear power plant. It is located at Vandellòs i l' Hospitalet de l'Infant in the province of Tarragona. The nuclear power plant consists of two blocks.

Block 1

The first block, Vandellòs -1 is a graphite- cooled reactor with carbon dioxide ( UNGG reactor). This block had an electrical output of 500 MW and was commissioned in 1972. On October 19, 1989, there is a severe accident, in which the block was irreparably damaged occurred. The depot repair would have been uneconomic, so it was decided on 31 July 1990, closing Unit 1. In 2003, the ENRESA, the second phase of the decommissioning and dismantling project, with which a large part of the system must be eliminated, decided to release. After 30 years of safe enclosure, if the activity has dropped by 95 percent, the rest of the system can be eliminated.

Block 2

Block 2, Vandellòs -2 is a pressurized water reactor with 2912 MW thermal and 1087 MW of electric power. This block is since 1988 on the net. The nuclear power plant is one of 72 percent of the companies Endesa and Iberdrola to 28 percent. A third block was planned, but the project on September 2, 1995, it was abandoned.
