Vardar Statistical Region

The Vardar ( Macedonian Vardarski region Вардарски регион ) region is one of the eight statistical regions in the Republic of Macedonia; the highest administrative level. The management unit is further divided into seven Opštini, which represent the last administrative level. The region is located in the center of the country and bordered to the south by Greece. Neighboring regions are Pelagonia, Southwest, Skopje, east and southeast (clockwise from the southwest clockwise). The region is named after the river Vardar zentralmazedonischen.
