Vårgårda

Vårgårda is a town in the Swedish province of Västra Götaland County and the historic province of Västergötland. She is also chief town of the same name.

Through the town flows the river Säveån and leads him to the European Route 20 over. The name of the village was first mentioned in 1420 as Walgaardha, written later in 1546 Waargaare. However, he was referring to a nearby Hofgut that gave the place its name later.

History

North of the village is located at the Church of Kullings - Skövde the burial ground Kyllingakullen. It consists of ten grave hills with a diameter of between ten and 32 meters, four stone circles of eight to 16 m in diameter and 18 standing stones, the largest of which is about two meters wide and three meters high.
