Vasile Oprea

Vasile Oprea ( born March 3, 1957 in Bucharest ) is a former Romanian handball player and now works among other things as a handball coach.

As a youth player Oprea took part in the first 1977 Handball World Junior Championship in Sweden, however, could only take possession Romania there eleventh place. Oprea played in his time at Dinamo Bucharest, with whom he was in 1978 and 1986 as well as 1979 champion Romanian Romanian Cup Winners' Cup. 1984 Oprea occupied with the Romanian national team to third place at the Olympic Games in Los Angeles. Oprea was used primarily as a circle and had runners at a height of 1.89 m, a weight of 84 kg. He clocked up 54 international matches in which he scored 46 goals.

As a coach Oprea was among other things an assistant coach at Frisch Auf Göppingen, with the promotion to the Handball Bundesliga 2001/ 02. Until December 2013 he was both coach of the first men's team, and the first woman team of TSV Zizishausen (Württemberg League and HVW - country league) and coach at RSZ Handball Academy Göppingen, an official top-level sport center of the Handball Federation Württemberg ( HVW ) and the German Handball Federation ( DHB). In December 2013 he signed for Frisch Auf Göppingen a contract as coach of the women's team until the end of Season 2013 / 14th

With his wife, Gina ( née Malai ), a former Romanian handball national team, founded Oprea 2007 under the auspices of TSG Eislingen the " Handball School Oprea ".

His son Dragoş Oprea is also Handball pro and is in FRESH UP! Göppingen under contract.
