Vasiliy Khmelevskiy

Vasily Vladimirovich Chmelewski (Russian Василий Владимирович Хмелевский, English transcription Vasiliy Khmelevskiy, . Born January 14, 1948 in Mikalaikowtschschina, Hrodsenskaja Woblasz, Byelorussian SSR, † 2002) was a Soviet hammer thrower.

In 1970 he won the silver medal at the Universiade.

At the Olympic Games in Munich in 1972, he won the bronze medal with 74.04 meters behind his countryman Anatoly Bondarchuk ( 75.50 m) and Jochen axis from the DDR ( 74.96 m).

His personal best of 74.98 meters he set up in Minsk on 8 July 1975.
