Vasilka Stoeva

Wassilka Stoewa ( Bulgarian Василка Стоева; born January 14, 1940 in Kotel ) is a retired Bulgarian discus thrower.

Stoewa was a total of six Bulgarian champion in discus throw (1967-1971 and 1973). By far the most important international success was winning the bronze medal at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. With a personal best jump of 64.34 m she placed behind the starting of the Soviet Union Faina Melnik ( 66.62 m) and the Romanian Argentina Menis ( 65.06 m). She also finished eighth at the European Athletics Championships 1974 in Rome.
