Vasily Solovyov-Sedoi

Vasily Pavlovich Solovyov - Sedoi (Russian Василий Павлович Соловьёв - Седой, scientific transliteration Vasily Pavlovich Solovyov - Sedoj; * 12.jul / April 25 1907greg in Saint Petersburg, .. † December 2, 1979 ) was a Russian composer. His oeuvre includes both classical compositions as well Estrada title.

Life

Solovyov - Sedoi was to 1936 students of the Leningrad Conservatory and wrote many songs, some of them are considered Soviet classics. The melody of his most famous piece, Moscow Nights ( Podomoskownije Wetschera ) served even as a call sign for Radio Moscow. Solovyov - Sedoi received during his career, among others, twice the Stalin Prize, and the title of People's Artist of the USSR. His song Put V 1954 is still sung on the day of victory.
