Väskinde

Väskinde is a place ( tätort ) on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Gotland in the province of Gotland County and the historical province of Gotland. The village in the municipality of Gotland is located about ten kilometers from the main town of Visby.

The Church of Väskinde dates from the 13th century. In its vicinity there is a picture stone, which has been dated to the period 400 to 600 AD. The dominant Wirbelradmotiv (a precursor of the swastika ) is interpreted as a symbol of the sun.
