VAST
V.A.S.T. ( Acronym for Visual Audio Sensory Theater ) is an American band that was founded by Jon Crosby, a musician from Los Angeles. Jon is the lead singer, guitarist and songwriter of the group. The style of music is Pop-Rock/Independent, this mainstream music is supplemented with some original electronic recordings, such as monk chants, violins or entire orchestras.
Biography
Crosby started the band at the age of 16 years with a rhythm sequencer, and a bassist. The first live concert of VAST contained elements of music and performance art, supported by large monitors and other visual effects.
The band celebrated their first successes, recorded as a local radio station their demo tapes in the rotation. Crosby then sent the tapes to several record companies in New York and eventually signed a contract with Elektra Records. The group was completed by Thomas Froggatt, Steve Clark and Rowan Robertson shortly. After they toured America, published in 1998 their self-titled debut album. Then they started to record the successor of "Music for People", which came on the market in 2000. Robertson left the band before its completion, to pursue a solo career and was replaced by Justin Cotta. The new quartet embarked on another U.S. tour, but in 2001 decided Clark and Cotta, together to form a new lineup and returned VAST back.
The next VAST album "Nude " was released in February 2004 and two months later the band was back on the stages of the USA on the road, again with a different musician line-up. In late 2003, Crosby had formed his own music label " 2Blossoms Records & Media ", and after the tour to " Nude" of 2004, the double album " Turquoise and Crimson " was put on the market. After two more plates appeared: " A Complete Demonstration " (2005), a compilation of unreleased demo songs, and a live recording entitled " Live at CBGB " from the year 2006.
The studio album " April " was released in May 2007 as a download. Furthermore, there are those now available in a limited edition on CD. In June 2009, followed by the new album " Me and You ", which had previously been available as a download. It includes some songs of Jon Crosby's 2008 solo project verfolgtem and albums Generica IV
The song " Touched " from the debut album ' Visual Audio Sensory Theatre " ran in 2009 for the background music of the common catwalks of all participants in the fourth season of Germany's Next Topmodel in the final mission. This helped the single 11 years after its release for the initial chart entry. In the download charts, the song was ranked 11th even
"Pretty When You Cry " from the album " Visual Audio Sensory Theatre" ran in 2010 in the cinema trailer of " We Are the Night " as well as in the film and is also found on the soundtrack.
In the spring of 2013, Jon Crosby was back with a fundraiser project, in which everyone can support him financially while working on the new album. The preliminary demo versions will be made available publicly in October and fans can co-decide in weekly polls which songs will be published on the new disk.
