Vastemõisa

Vastemõisa ( German: Wastemois ) is a village in the municipality Suure -Jaani. It is located in Estonia Viljandi County. The area is 10.8 km ². The village has 455 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2006).

History

The manor of Vastemõisa was first mentioned in documents in 1559. It was for centuries owned by the state. Today's one-story building was constructed of wood well towards the end of the 18th century.

Until October 22, 2005 Vastemõisa was an independent municipality, before it became part of the community Suure -Jaani.
