The Västerdal is a North Swedish river, which flows from the Scandinavian Mountains to the Baltic Sea.
Geography
It originates in the northwestern Dalarna near the Norwegian border north of halls by the confluence of the Görälven (Norwegian Ljøra ) and the Fuluälven (also Fulan ). At the upper reaches there are some lakes and artificial congestion. The Västerdal has a length of about 235 kilometers.
In Djurås the Västerdal and Österdalälven flow together and form the river Dalalven.
