Västerhejde

Västerhejde is a place ( tätort ) on the Swedish Baltic Sea island of Gotland in the province of Gotland County and the historical province of Gotland. The village in the municipality of Gotland is first mentioned in 1327 as West speech in a document. The name comes from the sky towards the west and the gutnischen hajd word for heath together. In Väterhejde is a medieval country church.
