Vatan

Vatan ( Turkish for " Homeland" ) is the name of several Turkish newspapers.

The first newspaper of that name appeared on March 26, 1923 was a publisher, journalist and writer Ahmet Emin Yalman ( 1888-1972 ). After initial support of government policy she waved to the opposition party Terakkiperver Cumhuriyet Fırkası ( Republican Progressive Party ) and as such banned in 1925.

The second newspaper was published from 1940 to 1961, then as " hurdles Vatan " ( Turkish for "Free Homeland" ) to 1962, co-editor was again Ahmet Emin Yalman.

From 1976 to 1978, a third newspaper appeared that name.

The current bearer of this name is on 4 November 2002, first published in Turkish newspaper with a daily circulation of currently ( August 2009) about 173,000 copies. Editorial office is Istanbul.

She champions - like their predecessors of the same name - a secular and nationalist politics in the sense of Kemalism; Topics € she called conservative.
