The UK Zenit -Kazan (Russian волейбольный клуб Зенит - Казань, formerly Dinamo Kazan Tattransgas ) is a Russian men's volleyball club from Kazan, which was established on 13 May 2000. He participates in the highest volleyball league of Russia, the Super League, and the Volleyball Champions League.
History
The Volleyball Club Dinamo Kazan was founded on 13 May 2000 by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Kazan City Administration. Initially the club played in the fourth division, the Perwaja league. 2001 promotion to the third division, the league Wysschaja example again, a year later, with the championship of the third division promotion to the second division, which can be reached Wysschaja League A.
The team was reinforced with Ruslan Olichver and Yevgeny Mitkow and won the championship game of the second class in 2003. Linked to this was the rise in the top flight, the Super League. In the season 2006/ 07 Dinamo Kazan Tattransgas won the Russian Championship playoff final against VK Dynamo Moscow and thus qualified for the Champions League the following season. In June 2008, the club was renamed in Zenit -Kazan and the Russian national team coach Vladimir Alekno, was engaged as head coach. With the Cup victory in 2009 and the Russian league titles in 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Zenit is one of the most successful Russian clubs of the decade.
