Veauche
Veauche is a commune with 8563 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Loire department in the Rhône -Alpes.
Geography
Veauche located about 15 km north of Saint- Étienne on the east bank of the Loire. On the west bank opposite, which is reached by a bridge, the location is situated Veauchette and the French motorway A72/E70 that connects Saint- Étienne with Clermont -Ferrand. The community also has its own train station.
History
The town and its name is attributed to a Celtic settlement. From the age of the place reflects the resulting even in early - Romanesque period Eglise du Bourg. A first written mention made against the year 1000.
