Vecherniy Bishkek

Wetscherni Bishkek (Russian Вечерний Бишкек ) is a Russian -language newspaper from Bishkek, capital of Kyrgyzstan.

History

The newspaper was first published on 1 January 1974 under the name " Wetscherni Frunze ". When Kyrgyzstan became independent in 1991, the newspaper was renamed Bishkek Wetscherni, similar to the renaming of the city. When the newspaper in 1999 to run the plans of Askar Akayev of Kyrgyzstan President for another term known as unconstitutional, the assets of the Wetscherni Bishkek were confiscated, but returned after the March Revolution of 2005. In recent years, the newspaper is increasingly relying on the Internet and social networks.
