Veikka Gustafsson

Eero Veikka Juhani Gustafsson ( born January 14, 1968 in Espoo, Finland) is a Finnish high-altitude climbers.

He is the first Finn, who has climbed Mount Everest. In 1997, he repeated the ascent, but this time without oxygen, so he was the first Finn to achieve that distinction. He is also the first Finn, who has climbed all 14 eight-thousanders. (July 2009)

  • Annapurna ( 8091 m ), Spring 2002. He reached 7300 m.
  • Kangchenjunga ( 8586 m ), Spring 2003., He had to return to 7100 m.

In the Antarctic

  • Mount Vinson ( 5140 m), Winter 1996. Highest mountain in Antarctica.
  • Four first ascents in Antarctica, winter 1997. He reached the Mount Gardner ( 4587 m) and an unknown peak, the ( 4300 m) was later named Mount with Sisu.
