Veli Kavlak

Veli Kavlak ( born November 3, 1988 in Vienna) is an Austrian footballer of Turkish descent, who has a contract with the Turkish first division club Beşiktaş Istanbul since 2011.

Career

Kavlak began his career in 1995 in the youth of Post SV Wien, for which he was just two days active. After a training session and a league match against FK Austria Wien took him then of SK Rapid Wien, where he went through all the youth teams in a row.

2004 saw the trained striker of the club's amateur squad in the first team and celebrated on May 22, 2005 game against SV Salzburg Wüstenrot with only 16 years, six months and 19 days his debut in the Austrian Bundesliga. He is one of the youngest footballer ever used in the Bundesliga, before the former Rapid player Ivanschitz.

In the season 2005/ 06 he came to fourteen appearances in the Championship, two in OFB Cup and an appearance in the UEFA Champions League. In July 2006, he played with the Austrian U-19 National Team in the semifinals of the U-19 European Junior, but failed with his team clearly with 0:5 against the eventual champions Spain. He also is one of the best friends of Ümit Korkmaz. In the championship season of the SK Rapid Wien 2007/ 08, the Turkish-born Austrian was among the top performers of green and white and had a major part in the success.

In October 2006, the 17 -year-old Josef Hickersberger was convened for the international matches against Liechtenstein and Switzerland in the Austrian national team, came in games but not yet used. His debut, he celebrated the 1-1 Austria against Ghana on 24 March 2007, he appeared as a substitute in the 71st minute for the striker Roland Linz.

In July 2007 he took part in the U20 World Cup in Canada, where he reached the 4th place with the Austrian selection. After this success, he was courted in the transfer period, summer 2007 and winter 2007 from Hertha BSC.
