Vepřová

Vepřová ( German Wepschikau ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located ten kilometers northwest of Zdar nad Sázavou and belongs to Okres Zdar nad Sázavou.

Geography

Vepřová is a hilly area of Zdarske Hills ( Saarer mountains). North of the Losenický springs creek. Its east of the village past the leading valley is protected as a nature reserve Mlýnský creek a Uhlířky. To the west lies the nature reserve Branty. In the north, the Henzlička rise ( 692 m) and the Ranský Babylon ( 673 m).

Neighboring towns are Hluboká in the north, Radostín in the northeast, Račín in the east, and Branty Velka Losenice in the south, Malá Losenice the southwest, Modlíkov in the west and Havlíčkova Borová in the northwest.

History

The first mention of belonging to the reign Přibyslav village was in 1502, as the place along with Polná after the death of Hynko Boček of Kunštát subject to the escheat. Was named the site of the former here abundant pigs. 1786 the first wooden school house was built. Until the abolition of patrimonial Vepřová belonged to united rule Polná - Přibyslav.

From 1850 formed Vepříkov a municipality in the administrative district of Polná. In 1884 she came to the district Chotěboř. In the vicinity of the village of iron ore was promoted at that time. In Vepříkov there was a grist mill and sawmill. In 1914 a major fire destroyed eight homes, a resident died there. Since 1919, the village bears the name Vepřová. 1947 was assigned to the Okres Zdar.
