Ver-sur-Launette
Ver-sur- Launette is a commune with 1189 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Oise in the Picardie region. It belongs to the district of Senlis and the canton of Nanteuil -le- Haudouin.
Geography
The municipality of Ver-sur- Launette located about 30 kilometers north-east of Paris, on the edge of the extensive over 3000 ha Forêt d' Ermenonville. It is one of the 59 municipalities of the established in 2004, the Regional Natural Park Oise Pays de France. Neighboring communities of Fontaine- Chaalis, and Ver are Ermenonville in the north, Ève the southeast, Othis in the south and Morte Fontaine in the West.
History
Ver-sur- Launette was the site of a royal palace of the Carolingians. In 755 Pippin the Younger announced here the " Kapitular of Ver" as a first attempt, dimensions, weights and coins to unify the Franks. In December 844 a synod was held in Ver, bordered on the bishops of the West Frankish Empire a decision against the encroachments of the nobility on church property, but was rejected by King Charles the Bald as too radical.
