Věra Tichánková

Věra Tichánková ( born December 7, 1920 in Žarnovická Huta, † January 9, 2014 in Prague) was a Czech actress. She was the wife of the Czech actor and playwright January Skopeček.

Life

In her youth, she became interested in chemistry and began a corresponding university. Later she moved to the acting career at the Prague Conservatory. In the time of the German occupation of Czechoslovakia, she worked in the resistance and was imprisoned in Theresienstadt. She was later transferred to Dresden, where she of 13 survived the air raids on 14 February 1945. The end of the Second World War she lived in Leipzig.

After returning to Prague, she was actively involved with her future husband in the reconstruction of the theater landscape. Since 1958, she has also appeared as an actress in the Czechoslovak Television.
