Verbascosid, and acteoside, a naturally occurring chemical compound, a so-called phenylpropanoid, that is, a glycoside, the aglycone, a phenylpropanoid (here the coffee acid).

It is found in various plants, eg in Harpagophytum procumbens (Devil's claw) or paulownia.

Acteoside has, like the flavonoids, antioxidant, antimicrobial and antihypertensive properties.
