Initially, these were a collective communion between the German Federal Railroad ( express trains, local trains, buses and train the same time as the imported VVS Stuttgart S -Bahn ) and almost all means of transportation of the Stuttgart trams (SSB ). The SSB of their labors at the same time their house fare on, only on the operated until 1993 airport bus line A was to the end a SSB own tariff. Outside the former S- Bahn network following railway lines were initially integrated:

  • Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt - Schorndorf
  • Waiblingen- Backnang
  • Backnang -Ludwigsburg
  • Ludwigsburg- Bietigheim- Bissingen
  • Stuttgart Hbf - Böblingen

On 1 July 1982, the VVS - transition rate has been introduced. This enabled the passengers to use with a monthly pass not only the transport of DB and SSB, but also the buses and trains of around 40 private transport companies.

On 1 October 1993, the transitional tariff was abolished and extended the common fare on the whole territory of the four Stuttgart surrounding districts. The regional trains could henceforth no longer be used only until the end point of the S -Bahn, but in addition to the last station before the county boundary with composite tickets.
