Vermouth

Vermouth ( Vermouth also internationally ) is a flavored with spices and herbs and aufgespriteter wine with about 15 to 18 percent alcohol by volume and relatively high sugar content. It owes its name to the wormwood wormwood (Artemisia absinthium ), which enhances the flavor clearly impressed by his bitter flavors. Vermouth is drunk as an aperitif, is part of many cocktails and is also used for the refinement of food.

Was invented in the aromatic beverage in 1786 in Turin by Antonio Benedetto Carpano. The addition of herbs originally served to mask unpleasant flavors cheaper wines. The Italian vermouth is usually offered as a charming variant, while French vermouth is usually dry.
