Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine
The Wernadskyj National Library of Ukraine (Ukrainian Національна бібліотека України імені В.І. Вернадського ) is an academic library in the Ukrainian capital Kiev.
With around 15 million units of media it is one of the great national libraries of the world. The Wernadskyj National Library was opened on the initiative of the Ukrainian politician Pawlo Skoropadskyj on August 2, 1918 and is named after the Russian geologist and geochemist Vladimir Ivanovich Vernadsky (Ukrainian: Wernadskyj ).
