Vernon Harrison

Vernon George Wentworth Harrison ( born March 15, 1912 in Sutton Coldfield, Warwickshire, England; † 14 October 2001) was a British physicist and forgery expert, president of the Royal Photographic Society and a member of the Society for Psychical Research. Part-time employed Harrison with paranormal phenomena.

Life

Harrison attended Bishop Vesey 's Grammar School in Sutton Coldfield and a Ph.D. from the University of Birmingham. He was a research physicist in the Printing & Allied Trades Research Association ( PATRA ). In 1957 he was appointed Director of Research of PATRA and was responsible for human resources management. In 1967, he joined as a Research Manager at De La Rue, a British company, the bank notes, stamps, cards and other types of security documents manufactures. Part of his work was in the range of increase document security and detect forgeries. From 1974 to 1976 he was president of the Royal Photographic Society of Great Britain.

After his retirement in 1977, he started his own business as an examiner of questioned documents and was involved as a forgery expert in court. He also dealt with paranormal phenomena. Together with other members of the Society for Psychical Research (SPR ) founded Harrison 1981, the Association for the Scientific Study of Anomalous Phenomena ( Assap ), a foundation that investigates paranormal phenomena such as ghosts and crop circles. In 1984 he published in the Journal of the SPR a critique to a 1884 instituted by the SPR report on the occultist Blavatsky; this so-called Hodgson Report is disabled and does not prove that Blavatsky's Mahatma Letters were forged.

Harrison was a big fan of the music of Franz Liszt and chairman of the ( English ) Liszt Society.
