Verzetsmuseum

The Dutch Resistance Museum in Amsterdam ( Dutch: Verzetsmuseum), is a historical museum to document the resistance of the Dutch against the German occupation of the country during the Second World War.

The museum was opened in 1984 and is located in the Plancius Building, a former music hall and theater of the Jewish community of Amsterdam. It was opposite the entrance to the Artis Zoo established in 1876 and incorporated in 2001 in the Dutch national monument list. On the original purpose still remembers the Star of David on the facade of the museum building.

Key points of the exhibition, for example, the February strike (1941 ) and the attack on the Amsterdam registration office on 27 March 1943 and the fate of the persons involved in such resistance.
