Větrušice

Větrušice ( German Wietruschitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic. It is located three kilometers north of Roztoky and belongs to Okres Praha- východ.

Geography

Větrušice is located on the right side above the Vltava on the Bohemian panel. West of the cut bank of the river lie the rocks of the " Větrušické rokle ". To the east is a large sewage treatment plant.

Neighboring towns are Máslovice and Vodochody in the north, and Drasty Klíčany in the northeast, Sedlec in the east, in the southeast Klecany, Husinec and Roztoky in the south, Řež in the southwest, and Letky Tursko in the west and Libčice nad Vltavou and Dol in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of the village was made in 1306 in connection with payments for the altars of St. Gotthard and St. Vitus at Prague Castle. During the Hussite Prague conquered the Vyšehrad Chapter associated village and sold it in 1429 to Duchek Kadaně of Větrušice.

From 1928 the town belonged to the Větrušice district Praha- venkov, from 1946 to Okres Praha -sever and since 1961 Okres Praha- východ. In March 1945, it came in the airspace east of the village in connection with the American air attacks on the Brabag - Schwarzheide to an air battle. 1957 were found in excavation work for a new barn remains of vessels and human remains whose age is estimated at 3000 years.
