Vexaincourt

Vexaincourt is a commune with 183 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Vosges in the Lorraine region. It belongs to the Canton of Raon- l'Étape in the arrondissement of Saint- Dié -des-Vosges and is a member of the department -wide Association of Local Authorities ( Communauté de communes ) Vallée de la Plaine.

Geography

The Vosges Vexaincourt community is located on the Meurthe Creek Plaine, which forms the border between the departments of Vosges and Meurthe -et -Moselle. The Department of Road 392, which runs from Raon- l'Étape above the Vosges ridge to Schirmeck in Alsace, the community bypasses north. In the municipality of Vexaincourt the Lac de la Maix, surrounded by a wooded area small lake.

History

Until 1793, the village belonged to the Principality of Salm.
