Veyras VS

Veyras is a municipality in the district of Sierre in the French speaking part of the canton of Valais in Switzerland.

Geography

Veyras lies in the vineyards on the northern slope of the Rhone valley, a few kilometers north of Sierre / Sierre. The municipality consists of the village and the hamlet Veyras Muzot. The latter emerged in the second half of the 20th century on the remains of a medieval deserted village. Adjacent communities are in the north Miege, the East and South Siders and West Venthône.

Attractions

The Tour Muzot, a residential tower from the 13th century, Rainer Maria Rilke lived from 1921 until his death in 1926.
