Vézère

The Vézère is a river in south-west France, which runs into the regions of Limousin and Aquitaine. It rises in the western Massif Central, on the plateau of Millevaches, in the municipality of Meymac. The source is located at Puy Pendu, approximately 900 meters above sea level, in the Regional Natural Park Millevaches en Limousin. The river drains initially in a northerly direction, aimed at Millevaches to the southwest, flows through the massif of Monedieres and ends after 211 kilometers in Limeuil as a right tributary of the Dordogne. The Vézère crosses on their way the departments of Corrèze and Dordogne.

Since 1979, this 40 km long river section belongs above the confluence with the Dordogne, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
