Vézeronce-Curtin

Vézeronce - Curtin is a commune with 1850 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the department of Isère, in the Rhône -Alpes. It belongs to the canton Morestel and the Communauté de communes Local Government Association du Pays des Couleurs.

Geography

Vézeronce - Curtin is located 50 kilometers south-east of Lyon, 16 kilometers northeast of Bourgoin- Jallieu and 12 kilometers north of La Tour- du-Pin, between the neighboring communes of Saint -Sorlin -de- Morestel in the south, Vasselin in the southwest and the cantonal capital Morestel in north. The hamlet Curtin and Charray belong to the community.

History

Historical importance was the small town by the battle of Vézeronce on 21 June 524, the Burgundians under the Godomar II in Burgundy war one last victory against the Franks succeeded before they were able to incorporate 534 Burgundy.

Vézeronce - Curtin was on the border of Savoy, there is still an old customs building dating from the 18th century. 1871 a Gallic helmet was found in the hamlet Curtin, who now is in the Museum of Grenoble ( Musée Dauphinois ). The helmet must have heard a high-ranking personality and is therefore attributed Chlodomer, who perished in the Battle of Vézeronce, and whose grave was never found.

1793 received Vézeronce - Curtin as Vezeronce in the wake of the French Revolution ( 1789-1799 ) the status of a municipality and 1801 as Vezeronca the right to local self-government. On 1 January 1973 Curtin was incorporated and was renamed Vézeronce Vézeronce - Curtin.

Coat of arms

The coat of arms depicts the on a blue background with a silver helmet, which is studded with golden nails. It is reminiscent of the helmet which was found in 1871.
