Věžovatá Pláně

Věžovatá Pláně ( German Thurmplandles ) is a municipality with 115 inhabitants in the Czech Republic. It is located seven kilometers northwest of Kaplice and belongs to the Okres Český Krumlov on. The land area is 494 ha

Geography

The place is located in 695 m asl in the Poluška Mountains. Neighboring towns are Dolni Pláně in the east, Horni Pláně the southeast, Brusnické Chalupy in the south, Osek in the southwest, Sedlice in the west and Malčice and Zubčice in the north.

History

The first written mention of the village belonging to the reign Poreschin Planje dates back to 1366th Even older is the village of Dolni Pláně which is proven since 1358. In the century the village was transferred to Großumlowitz in the possession of the Lords of Drchowetz.

1785 was built under the patronage of the monastery Hohenfurth a wooden church and a rectory. 1788 obligatory for each parish school was built. 1800 began the renovation of the St. Anna Church to a stone building and 1870 by the building of a brick tower in place of the wooden. From 1841, the name Thurnplanles is proven, from which a short time later Thurmplandles developed. Until the replacement of patrimonial regimes in 1850 belonged to the basic rule of Cesky Krumlov.

2003 Věžovatá Pláně entered as the first Czech community in the Climate Alliance and Mayor Josef Mach declared renunciation of power from the controversial nuclear power plant Temelín. On the initiative of Mach, who was one of the leading opponents of Temelin in the Czech Republic in the same year in Věžovatá Pláně a common Austrian and Czech environmental groups supported information and training center for solar energy.

In the scenic surroundings of the village there are hiking trails and winter trails are groomed and operated a ski lift.

The municipality Věžovatá Pláně the district Dolni Pláně heard ( Unterplandles ) as well as the hamlets of Horni Pláně ( Oberplandles ) Buchtice ( Buchtitz ) and Brusnické Chalupy.
