VFC Anklam

The Western Pomerania FC Anklam is a German football club from Anklam. Home of the club is the Werner Seelenbinderhalle stadium in the south of the city, which offers 10,000 spectators. The VFC is in the tradition of the former GDR -division club BSG locomotive Anklam.

From the SG Anklam Anklam to the BSG Lok

After the destruction of all sports clubs after the Second World War in East Germany was re-established during the year 1945, the SG Anklam. After the introduction of the system of company sports teams took over in 1949, the local consumer cooperative, the SG and converted it into the BSG consumption by. After the founding of the central sports association Empor for Trade and supply was in 1952 renamed BSG Empor Anklam. The BSG had, as usual, with a wide range of sports, but only the skaters and the football players were known beyond the region. The skater Dirk Mademann was 1977-1988 multiple DDR champion.

The Anklamer football players are already involved since 1946 in the championships of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and reached this season 4th place in the relay Vorpommern - east, thus could not qualify for the championship games 1947/48, however. 1952 belonged Empor Anklam of the founding members of the newly created third-class district of Neubrandenburg League and finished second in its opening season in third place. The after the takeover by the Reichsbahn as carriers operating in 1960 in Lok Anklam renamed BSG played in sequence another 25 seasons in the district league, missed as runner-up several times to move up to a higher league. Only in the 1979/80 season, it was enough to win the district championship before the second representation of forward Neubrandenburg and the associated rise in the second-rate DDR -Liga.

In their first second division season 1980/81 the BSG Lok was able to secure the league until the final day with a 3-1 victory over CM Veritas Wittenberg, but failed for the following season with only nine season points clear. After Lok Anklam played until the end of the DDR game operation in 1991 in the district league. In the last season the team only reached the 15th place.

Mergers of ESV to VFC

After the collapse of the East German company sports teams members of the previous BSG Lok founded in 1990 the successor ESV Lok, shortly afterwards renamed FV Lok Anklam. The FV Lok succeeded in 1998, the rise in the regional league Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, which was maintained until 2000, backed midfield squares. After the 2000 /01 Lok Anklam withdrew his team from playing the fifth division and merged with the football section of the SV Grün-Weiß Anklam Anklam for VfB. The VfB from the time exclusively in the national league east. At the beginning of the season 2008/ 09 there was a re- merger, the VfB joined with the Club 98 Anklam together the new VFC Anklam. The VFC took the place of the VfB in the siebtklassigen national league east. 2011 reached the summit in the sechstklassige Association League Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.
