Vic Mizzy

Victor Mizzy ( born January 9, 1916 in Brooklyn, New York, † October 17, 2009 in Bel Air, California ) was an American film composer.

Life

Mizzy attended the New York University and was in the 1930s and 1940s successfully as a composer for artists such as Doris Day (My Dreams Are Getting Better All the Time ), the Andrews Sisters ( Three Little Sisters) and the Mills Brothers ( The Jones Boy) active. During World War II he served in the United States Navy.

After some of his compositions had already been used since 1939 in movies, Mizzy worked from 1959 for television and wrote, among other things, the theme song for television series such as Kentucky Jones, The Addams Family and Green Acres episode and music for Quincy and Delta House. He also wrote the soundtracks to films such as An apartment for three with Rock Hudson and Leslie Caron, The bare facts with Tony Curtis and Claudia Cardinale and he only came at night with Robert Taylor and Barbara Stanwyck in the lead roles.
