Vic Ruggiero

Victor " Vic" Ruggiero (aka Ruggaroo, Lord Sluggo or Bad Vic ) is a New York musician who mainly plays ska, rocksteady, reggae and related musical styles. He is currently living in New Jersey.

Ruggiero has played in many bands. The best known are The Slackers ( previously The Nods were called ), the Stubborn All-Stars and the Skandalous All-Stars. Furthermore, Ruggiero was involved in several projects with his friend and label boss Tim Armstrong of the U.S. punk band Rancid. He played various keyboard instruments on both albums of the transplants as well as on the album Try This pop singer Pink, originated from the 8 of the 13 songs with Tim Armstrong's help.

A joint project with Tim Armstrong under the name The Silencers brought it to only one publication on a Hellcat label sampler. He also played the organ and various other instruments on Rancid albums ... And Out Come The Wolves, Life Will not Wait, Indestructible and Let The Dominoes Fall.

In addition to his interests in the above-mentioned bands Ruggiero is active as a solo artist for many years. In his plates on which Ruggiero mainly plays guitar, harmonica and percussion, but mostly rockabilly, country and blues pieces can be heard. Under his name, he released the album Living In Sin / Understanding New Jersey (USA 1999, re-released by the label moanin ', Germany 2006), Alive At The Ladybug House ( Thought Squad, USA, 2004), Hamburguru ( Ska In The World, Japan, 2007), Something in my blind spot ( moanin ', Germany, 2008), On The Ragtime ( Thought Squad, USA, 2009), songs For Clandestine Lovers ( Ska in The World, Japan, 2009) and Do not Feed The Cats In Iraq ( Asian Man, USA, 2010).
