Vic Sarin

Vic Sarin ( born June 10, 1941 in Srinagar, Kashmir, India ) is a Canadian cinematographer and film director.

Life

Vic Sarin was born the son of a cinema owner in Srinagar. His father was also later joined the Foreign Ministry in New Delhi and was a diplomat in Australia, where Sarin spent his youth. For his 16th birthday he got his first 16mm camera and began to be interested in the craft of the camera man. After studying electrical engineering at the University of Melbourne he moved, inspired, according to his own statement by the Canadian actor Gordon Pinsent, to Canada. From 1963 he lived in Toronto and worked over 23 years for CBC Television as a cameraman and director.
