Vicariate Apostolic of San Miguel de Sucumbíos

The Apostolic Vicariate of San Miguel de Sucumbios (Latin: Sancti apostolicus Vicariatus Michaëlis de Sucumbios ) is located in Ecuador Roman Catholic Apostolic Vicariate with its headquarters in Lago Agrio. It includes the province of Sucumbios.

History

Pope Pius XI. founded the Apostolic San Miguel de Sucumbios prefecture on April 16, 1924, cessions of territory of the diocese of León de Nicaragua. On July 2, 1984, she was elevated to the Apostolic Vicariate.
